Continued Give Back For Flood Victims

You can help the flood victims in 3 ways:

1) Donating goods.

We are still accepting donations. We suggest cleaning supplies, toiletries, water, gatorade powerade etc, tools and house gutting supplies. Bread, Cold Cuts, Cheese, Chips, individually wrapped snacks, Mayo, Mustard gallons, Cutlery kits, napkins, paper bags #8, Towels, blankets, and pillows. Dog and cat food. Baby formula and diapers. Any Non perishable food.

Here is the deal on clothes – most places have been inundated with clothes and stopped taking them. Mainly because people can’t take clothes yet, they’re just getting to gut their house and they have no place to put them. If you want to give clothes we are accepting them and holding them in storage. We know in a few weeks, once everyone is back in their house that clothes will be a necessity and everyone with being taking them again.

2) Sponsor a lunch:

We have had many people/businesses ask if they can help feed folks. Our goal is to deliver bagged lunches every Monday and Friday for the next month.
Here are the details to sponsor a feeding day:
  • Pick a day for your business or group of friends to “Sponsor”
  • It costs $800 to feed 2000 people. We know that $.40 a person sounds cheap but we have partnered with Randazzos and we are making them take some money (they have donated over 4000 buns, 2000 cookies, 10 king cakes, 500 cheese danish). They want to keep donating but we can’t let them. We are also getting different small donations from mayo to chips here and there. Non Profit Making Life Grand has also received some cash and check donations and it was to put toward earlier food runs. God always just seems to provide.
  • You can split that anyway you want.
  • We have 2 business going Monday at $400 a piece
  • Get a few friends and put up what you can.
  • Our Non-Profit will always kick in the rest so that we bring the 2000 lunches the next 4 weeks on Monday and Friday.
We will provide the kitchen, get all the supplies and train you to be a professional sandwich artist and bag stuffer!
  • Email cmcdonald@aintlifegrandinvestments.com with any questions or a copy of our Non-Profit paperwork for tax deductions.
Feel free to sponsor a day and then come help make the bag lunches

Located at 29740 Urgent Care Drive, just yards south of the Highway 181 and Interstate 10 intersection, the 7th location to the Mugshots brand in Alabama opened its doors for business on Tuesday, July 12th.

After hosting their “Eat Good, Give Back” soft opening fund raising event the weekend before, Mugshots Grill & Bar and their nonprofit, Making Life Grand, were able to raise funds and awareness for the Child Advocacy Center of Mobile and the Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center and their dedication to assisting families and children. “Being a part of the Mugshots Malbis opening was a great experience. The overwhelming support we received from the the people of Malbis, Daphne, Spanish Fort, and Mobile really tells you about the sense of community here.” said Sam McAlister, Marketing Director for Ain’t Life Grand Investments. “We have helped our communities with quite a few fund raising events over the years with our “Eat Good, Give Back” events and we just reached a milestone of $130,000 in donations to great organizations in 3 states. It’s very humbling to know we are bringing hope to families and children in need.” said McAlister in closing. Tuesday morning during the opening day ribbon cutting ceremony Mugshots founders presented a check to the Child Advocacy Center of Mobile and the Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center in the amount of $10,000.00.

“Our Franchisee and Owner, George Herring, is a very driven, goal oriented leader that has done a terrific job with Mugshots Mobile.” said Founder of Mugshots Grill & Bar, Chris McDonald. “It’s exciting to think about what he will do, alongside his great management team, here in Malbis. With this opening we add an additional 100 team members to our Mugshots and Ain’t Life Grand family. We have over 1,200 family members now and our goal is to spread our culture to thousands of customers every day in over 20 grand restaurants.” said McDonald in closing.

Good food, “Havin’ A Good Time”, and Giving Back is at the core of Mugshots Grill & Bar’s culture. Located at 110 Inverness Plaza, just off Highway 280, the 3rd location to the Mugshots brand in Greater Birmingham opened its doors for business on Tuesday, March 1st.

After hosting their “Eat Good, Give Back” soft opening fund raising event the weekend before, Mugshots Grill & Bar and their nonprofit, Making Life Grand, were able to raise funds and awareness for Hope for Autumn Foundation and their dedication to assisting families battling childhood cancer. “I believe opening Mugshots Inverness was a great experience mainly from the overwhelming support we received from the the people of Inverness and Hoover.” said Sam McAlister, Marketing Director for Ain’t Life Grand Investments. “We have helped with quite a few fund raising events over the years for Hope for Autumn, but being able to dedicate this entire weekend to them was very rewarding.” Tuesday morning during the opening day ribbon cutting ceremony Mugshots founders presented a check to Hope for Autumn Foundation in the amount of $8,133.82.

“On behalf of Hope for Autumn Foundation, I would like to thank Ain’t Life Grand Investments and Mugshots Grill and Bar for benefiting us through their ‘Eat Good, Give Back‘ campaign during the opening of their new Mugshots location in Hoover.” said Amanda Knerr, Executive Director of Hope for Autumn Foundation “Our group had a fabulous evening and experienced impeccable service and delicious food and drinks! The funds raised through the event will be used to further our mission to financially assist area families battling childhood cancer, fund new and innovative childhood cancer research at Children’s of Alabama, and support our childhood cancer awareness programs. Most importantly, these funds will GIVE HOPE to families battling childhood cancer. My own thirteen year old daughter is battling cancer for the second time, and was able to join us for a rare night out. She was so grateful for the support from the staff and patrons and really had a good time!” said Knerr in closing.

“We have held 10 ‘Eat Good, Give Back’ fund raising events since 2013 when we opened our Mugshots Mobile location.” said Chris McDonald, Founder of Ain’t Life Grand Investments and Mugshots Grill & Bar. “We have currently raised just over $117,000 for great organizations over 3 states. Seeing the smile on Emily’s face this weekend reminded me of why we do this. In the early days there was no money to give; only our time and food. It has been so humbling to see how our nonprofit, Making Life Grand, is now spreading hope to families who need it most.”

Making Life Grand Donates $23,123.94 to Children’s of Alabama and Camp Smile-A-Mile for Cancer Research

Ain’t Life Grand Investments and their nonprofit Making Life Grand donates check on behalf of Project Team Taylor to Children’s of Alabama and Camp Smile-A-Mile.

BIRMINGHAM, AL (PRWEB) AUGUST 06, 2015

This morning Ain’t Life Grand Investments, Making Life Grand, and Project Team Taylor met representatives of Children’s of Alabama and Camp Smile-A-Mile at the newest location of Glory Bound Gyro Co. in downtown Birmingham, AL to present the check from the inaugural Project Team Taylor company wide giveback held at all locations of Mugshots Grill & Bar, Glory Bound Gyro Co., and Topher’s Rock ‘N Roll Grill.

Project Team Taylor was created to raise funds and awareness for Pediatric Cancer Research & Treatment. 6 year old Taylor Rayburn, daughter of Allison and Cliff Rayburn, was diagnosed with a Wilms’ Tumor on April 27th, 2015 and received treatment at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL. June 11, Taylor’s birthday, will mark the day of our annual giveback to help fight cancer.

“The entire staff at Children’s couldn’t have been more gracious,” said Mugshots Tuscaloosa Franchisee, Cliff Rayburn. “The treatment, care, and confidence of the staff at Children’s made Taylor feel as comfortable as possible and our family felt as if we were a part of the Children’s family. This is when we realized that we had to do something as a company to give back to these organizations who are helping the fight against cancer.”

“Giving back, changing lives, and making a difference in communities is what Making Life Grand is all about.” said Founder of Ain’t Life Grand Investments, Chris McDonald. “It’s one thing to give back but when it’s a family member it makes it that much more special. One thing this giveback did for the whole company, that I wasn’t expecting, was show us just how much cancer is part of many people’s lives. We had visits from customers who were coming in to remember loved ones taken by cancer and also customers celebrating those who are cancer survivors.” McDonald also stated.

About Making Life Grand:
Making Life Grand is the nonprofit of Ain’t Life Grand Investments; the parent company to three of the South’s favorite restaurant concepts.
